'Shesh Prashna'- A Novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay

Recently I was reading the novel 'Shesh Prashna' by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay again. Previously I read it during my college days. Now after many years, this time I was delving more into the ideologies narrated in the novel. It presents many view points of a society. If a society remains stagnant, then it loses its flow. Society is a living thing and needs to evolve in order to cater to the needs of its members. On the other hand, we need some standarad rules in it so that the foundation remains strong so as to defend it from deteriorating as well as to nourish the spirit of its members. The balance between the two is very very fragile. Both of these sides are presented through many characters in Shesh Prashna. We feel all the characters and start loving them. Ashu Babu, Haren, Satish, Neelima, Ajit, Rajen, Manorama, Bela, Shibnath, Akshay Babu - all characters have different personalites and stay in our mind for a long time. Kamal definitely stands out as the heroine of the novel. I feel this novel makes us think and decide about the society, so that we can keep an equilibrium between the progressive approach and the conservative one.

'Pujarini' - A Poem by Rabindranath Tagore

Recently  I was reading the poem Pujarini by Rabindranath Tagore. I remember we had it in our school syllabus of class eight. The devotion of Srimati touches our heart. The way she shows her courage to worship Lord Buddha keeps inspiring us always. The beautiful poem has a softness which lingers in our mind . Tagore's wonderful writing depicts of the events one by one in details in front of our eyes. I have always loved this poem for its purity.

You can read the poem from the internet.

Tagoreweb is another option, which has all the works of Tagore uploaded in their website.

You can also listen to the poem from Youtube or any other App.

With lots of wishes to all,
