Shri Swapankumar er Badami Hayenar Kobole- Bengali film (2024)

This 2024 film is directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya and produced by Hoichoi Studios. This film tries a different take on the stories by famous pulp fiction writer of 70's, Shri Swapankumar. In this film we see the presence of the writer Shri Swapankumar (played by Paran Bandopadhyay) as well as the character Deepak kumar (played by Abir Chatterjee) created by Swapankumar.

The story is based on Kolkata where the detective is trying to protect the city from the attack of an evil person who is known as Badami Hayena (played by Goutam Halder). With many twists and turns the detective becomes successful in preventing the attack by Badami Hayena.

This film is slightly different from normal films which generally have a linear storyline. Here the storyline changes many times according to the plan of the main character Deepak Kumar and of course according to the idea of the writer Swapankumar. Sometimes such sudden change brings a smile in the lips of the audience, and sometimes these changes also generate suspense. The action sequences as well as the events are shown in absurd ways to bring the element of comedy through the element of hyper realism (adding too much real life details so as to almost mimic the real life). Because of this, the audience needs to prepare themselves accordingly before watching the film. The mystery of the film and the solution are conveyed to us by the approach of heightened reality. It surprises the audience in a different way.

It is a new kind of film. If audience keeps supporting such projects then we may get to see many of such creative kind of films in future.

With best wishes
